Valentine’s Day Interesting facts and my thoughts

Hey beautiful people  i know everyone is busy nowadays for the upcoming VALENTINE’S DAY.So here i wanted to share with you some interesting facts about it and my thoughts regard them.

“About 1 billion Valentine’s Day cards are exchanged each year. This makes it the second largest seasonal card sending time of the year”

I mean seriously? and rather than spending money on these cards if we buy a book to a child who want to study but can’t afford ,isn’t be better?

” In Finland , Valentine’s Day is called Ystävänpäivä, which translates into “Friend’s day”. It’s more about remembering your buddies than your loved ones.”

Well i totally agree with this idea of celebrating with friends.Either i think for me all the days i spend with my friends are special and i don’t need a specific day to celebrate it.

“Girls of medieval times ate bizarre foods on St. Valentine’s Day to make them dream of their future spouse.”

hahah Now this made me laugh. If it really works then i definitely need to try this.

“Physicians of the 1800’s commonly advised their patients to eat chocolate to calm their pining for lost love”

Well usually when people are in pain and stressed out the smoke. This option is definitely better. But keep an eye on the quantity of chocolate you eat.I am sure you don’t want to have diabetes.

“220,000 is the average number of wedding proposals on Valentine’s Day each year.”

Wow it’s a huge number.I guess i have to wait yet ,who know one proposal for me too :p

“Every Valentine’s Day, the Italian city of Verona, where Shakespeare’s lovers Romeo and Juliet lived, receives about 1,000 letters addressed to Juliet.”

This is a beautiful way to keep alive their love and i think it’s a great gesture towards love.

Well it’s good that people try to confess their love and feelings to be loved once. But i really don’t think you need a specific day to celebrate Love. Its a beautiful feeling that you can share everyday.Spend less on gifts ,roses and chocolates and spread more love with other gestures.

I also would like to mention here people who are SINGLE.You don’t need to be sad.LOVE yourself and do buy your self a rose and some chocolates😉

  1. I love the ketchup pancakes, I can imagine they taste ok. My husband puts peanut butter on his pancakes and people think its weird, but I’m now used to it and prefer it that way too.

  2. These are indeed interesting facts and thoughts. I really like the one about the doc saying to eat chocolate to calm the pining for lost love.

  3. Chocolates are really a “feel good” food because it helps release endorphins in the body which makes us “feel good.” I found it interesting that people still leave letters for Juliet up to this present time.

  4. This has to be one of the best Valentine’s Day post that I’ve read this week. It’s very informative. I must say that I’m all for spreading love and I think it’s something that we should all do not just on this day but every day.

  5. Yeah, I liked the one about eating chocolate to get over past loves too. And, that’s a lot of wedding proposals on Valentine’s Day. Neat information about the holiday!🙂

  6. How interesting! You know whats funny? My kids eat Ketchup on everything you could think of, but they’ve never had it on pancakes. When I saw that I was like hmmm! lol.
